- Correct loose paint, dampness, contamination and unstable repairs.

Unpack and inspect every panel
Do not begin with the first roll or sheet you find. Lay out the panels in sequence and confirm:
- panel numbers and orientation;
- top and bottom edges;
- image continuity and pattern repeat;
- printed dimensions and expected trimming allowance;
- colour consistency and visible defects;
- the approved crop for custom artwork.

Establish a true vertical starting line
Do not assume that a room corner, door frame or ceiling is straight. Measure the first panel width and place a plumb reference where the panel can be aligned while retaining the required trimming allowance. Check where the final panel will fall so it does not become an impractically narrow strip.
Dry-position the first panel
- Hold or tape the panel against the wall without exposing the full adhesive.
- Confirm the top crop and trimming allowance.
- Check the important artwork against furniture, windows and fixtures.

Expose the backing gradually

- Do not pull the material to force it into alignment.

Align the next panel using the stated seam method
Match the artwork at eye level and work progressively down the wall. If the system uses butt joints, bring the edges together without creating a gap or overlap. If it uses an overlap, follow the stated width and trimming method. Do not invent a seam method from another wallpaper product.
Check the pattern every short distance rather than waiting until the full panel is applied. A small mismatch at the top can become more visible toward the bottom.
Work around sockets, switches and openings
Plan cuts only after the panel is aligned. Isolate electrical power and use qualified assistance where required. Make controlled relief cuts with a suitable guide and avoid cutting deeply into plasterboard, wiring areas or the wall finish. Keep required covers, controls, vents and safety markings unobstructed.
Trim the perimeter
Once the panel position is secure, trim at the ceiling, skirting, frame or other boundary according to the product instructions. Use a sharp blade so the material is cut rather than dragged. Replace the blade when it begins to pull or tear the edge.
Correct alignment problems early
If the material permits limited repositioning, lift only the affected section and realign it before continuing. Repeated removal can stretch the panel, contaminate the adhesive or weaken the wall coating. Do not puncture bubbles or cut a seam unless the product instructions specifically recommend that method.
Inspect the completed installation
- Check every seam from close range and normal viewing distance.
- Inspect corners, top and bottom edges.
- Confirm that pattern and artwork remain aligned.
- Remove any installation residue using the approved method.
- Follow the stated waiting period before cleaning or heavily using the area.
Care and later removal
Use only cleaners and tools permitted for the exact finish. Keep the product instructions and a spare sample.
