A wall decal described as washable should have a documented cleaning method. Washable does not automatically mean waterproof, scrub-resistant, chemical-resistant or suitable for wet areas.
Check what “washable” means
Read the permitted cleaner, cloth, pressure and frequency. Confirm whether the printed surface has a protective layer and whether the claim applies to the face, edges and adhesive system.
Match the product to the location
Children's rooms, kitchens, bathrooms and commercial spaces have different contamination and cleaning conditions. Direct water, steam, grease and disinfectants require separate suitability checks.
Test before cleaning
Begin with a small inconspicuous area. Use a soft cloth and the method stated for the product. Avoid abrasive pads, solvents and strong chemicals unless specifically permitted.
Protect edges and the wall
Do not soak the decal or force liquid under its edges. The underlying paint or coating may be less resistant than the decal. Inspect adhesion and print condition after cleaning.
Understand guarantee limits
